If you plan to come and discover the beautiful Banderas Bay, where Friendly Vallarta is located, to spend a splendid day at Las Gemelas beach is an experience that you must live.
.

Las Gemelas is a beach that has fallen in love with both tourists and locals; with its amazing turquoise-crystal clear water you will not want to leave. Whether enjoying the sea, the sun, the breeze or the softness of the sand, you will find a reason to love it.

It is one of the smallest beaches in the area; its environment is clean and familiar, and its waves are usually calm. If you arrive early you can rest under an extensive beach tree, one of the distinctive of Las Gemelas beach.

It is important to mention that, although in Puerto Vallarta you get to almost anywhere in less than an hour, Las Gemelas beach is at a considerable distance from the romantic zone of the city. In fact, Las Gemelas is located in the neighboring municipality called Cabo Corrientes. To get there you have 4 options:

.

  1. By urban bus to Boca de Tomatlan (white with orange bus). You take it in the street Basilio Badillo crossing with Constitution Street in Olas Altas (Puerto Vallarta). You arrive at the beach in about 20-25 minutes. The stops are not marked and there is no warning on the truck to let you know where are you at, so do not forget to tell the driver to get you off at Las Gemelas beach.
  2. By car. You have to take the coastal road that goes to Barra de Navidad (Cabo Corrientes) south of Puerto Vallarta. You arrive in about 10-15 minutes to the beach. There is no signage for Las Gemelas beach; You will have to guide yourself with Google maps to know where to stop. Also note that there is few parking spaces near the beach, so we recommend arriving early, especially on weekends, to find a parking space (8: 00-9: 00 am is good).
  3. By Uber or yellow taxi. You take it from anywhere in the city, whose pick up point obviously influences the cost. We recommend taking this transport in Plaza Lazaro Cardenas (also known as Los Azulejos Park) in Olas Altas.
  4. Boat or panga (water taxi). You can take it from any port in Vallarta. Its cost depends again on the starting point. We recommend using this transport for groups of more than 10 people; so you can negotiate a better price per person or per group with the boatmen.
    .

You will know that you arrived at Las Gemelas beach when you are outside the Hotel Girasol Sur. Just go down the stairs to enjoy a unique beach day. Finally, it is important to mention that the Twins is a private beach: the door before the stairs closes at 8:00 p.m. A security guard warns visitors that they must leave the beach, so it is not possible to camp at night on this beach.
